The Corps Commander of the Osun Amotekun Corps, Chief Dr. Hon. Adekunle Isaac Omoyele, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Osun State Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade (Dr.) Christopher Abimbola Arapasopo, on the conferment of the honorary chieftaincy title of Gbobaniyi of Ilase-Ijesa.
The prestigious title was conferred by His Royal Majesty, Oba Jimoh Isiaka Adesina Ajarabiolu II, the Alase of Ilase-Ijesa, in recognition of Dr. Arapasopo’s outstanding leadership and unwavering contributions to the development of Ilase-Ijesa and Osun State at large.
In an official statement made available to journalists in Osogbo, Chief Dr. Omoyele described the conferment as “a round peg in a round hole”, affirming that the honour was both timely and well-deserved.
“Comrade Arapasopo has consistently shown a deep commitment to the welfare of workers across Osun State. His leadership of the state’s labour union has been marked by integrity, resilience, and an unflinching dedication to justice and fairness. His role in the progress of the civil service and the protection of workers’ rights has earned him not just the admiration of his peers, but also the recognition of traditional institutions,” Chief Omoyele said.
He further praised Dr. Arapasopo’s humility, advocacy, and servant-leadership style, noting that the new chieftaincy title serves as a symbol of the people’s appreciation and the royal endorsement of his impactful service to the community.
Chief Omoyele also prayed for continued divine guidance and strength for the NLC Chairman as he takes on this new traditional role in addition to his current responsibilities.
“I pray that God grants Dr. Arapasopo a long life in good health, wisdom, and strength to carry the responsibilities that come with this new honour. May he continue to be a beacon of progress, unity, and development in Ilase-Ijesa and beyond,” he concluded.
